Learning Plan for
Science I

I. OBJECTIVES
   At the end of the discussion, the students are expected to:

        a.) identify what is ecosystem;
        b.) determine the value of producers; and
        c.) create an example food chain that you've encountered.

II. SUBJECT MATTER
    A. Topic: Interactions in the Ecosystem
      B. Reference: Science and Technology for the Modern World
                           By: Marlene M. Gutierez, pp. 222-223
      C. Materials: Computer, Speaker, and projector

III. STRATEGIES/PROCEDURES
    A. Preliminary Activities
          1. Drill:
                      "Match the following animals and Identify"
                   The students will identify whether it is biotic and abiotic
        in the given slide of a powerpoint presentation. And they will match all 
        the animals whether what habitat do they belong.

          2. Review:
                         a.) What is ecology?
                         b.) Is biotic and abiotic essential in our environment?
                         c.) Create an example of a biotic organisms and its habitat?

          3. Motivation:

        B. Presentation

           1.Activity Proper: 
                          From the given video, they will answer the following question. 
                   There will be 5 students will be called in the class.
                         a. How many food chains did you see?
                         b. How can human be involved in the food chain?
                         c. What is a food chain?
                         d. Why food chain is vital for the organisms?
                         e. give an example of food chain.

            2. Analysis:
                         a. What is ecosystem?
                                - An interaction occur in an environment.
                         b. What is the difference between producers and consumers?
                                - The only ones who can manufacture their own are called
                                producers while consumers depend on the producers because 
                                they can't produce their own food.
                         c. Why is the producers important in an ecosystem?

6 Fluencies



1. Digital Skills
          Our Brain is capable of thinking and exploring new things. It tend to seek problems and find solutions. we create imaginative scheme that could result to beautiful solutions. Our functions and do our work creatively.






2. Information fluency

We open ourselves through the use of social medias and gadgets. It helps us to create the things that we need to see. It produces our thoughts and communicate to other people universally. This product could be images,videos and sound medias that every people could see globally.






3. Collaboration Fluency

    Explore, socialize and create. We use technology as a means of interacting to one another and help each other to solve and create through social networking. Through this technoloies people could express their thoughts into real and combining the ideas of other people to create a new thing and can be develop by other people. It is an endless process of learning to one people from another.



4. Media Fluency

Social medias like t.v.'s, radios, CD and etc. help us to bind for the new trends from one place to another. It could be advertising, magazine, radio announcing and etc. Education use this sites to develop the skills of a learner and make it as another way of expressing sites for ideas and skills. Through this a learner is confident enough to show his skills and help him to explore things for the betterment of his work.



5. Creativity Fluency

              Our minds builds a million ways to express the ideas and create artistic scheme that could appreciate the eyes of an audience. This media could be music, images or videos but still we design to capture the attention of other people. We use this technology to creatively express our ideas in doing works in a creative way that we like.







6. Digital Ethics
Ethics  involves systematizing, defending, and recommending concepts of right and wrong behavior. So it is a freedom to socialize, create, involve and engage not harming others. It is expressing thoughts with the media and other people not discriminating and harming their moral values that could offend other people.




This 6 Fluencies is a guideline on how a learner express, create, learn and engage to this increasing industrial technologies. And as a facilitator I should facilitate and help my student to engage the right use of this technologies as a medium.

My perception on old and new generation



The old generation can't understand the new generations behavior. The things they like to do, their social life, the games they play and all the things that are so different from the past to the present time. They tend to apply the traditional teachings that they learn from the past.






  But the new generation is learning through this things. And the teacher who could be a part of the old generation should start to understand the new generations want. I perceive that the old generation is starting to understand the new generations trends that the education before is different from the present. The old generation is now engaging to learn this new high technologies to be able to understand their children and the young generations. Some of the people now a days use high technologies in their works, offices, homes and school. Even if they are old or young they use technology in their daily works. And this are the things that we can't change but we can control.

The old generation is more on social gatherings.

They are more on talking to other people.


They wear denim, band tees, Sunday dress and leather.

Cutoff, acid-washed, or otherwise destroyed jeans.


They are not engage on technology.

Cellphones is not that developed and internet is not yet invented.

Their education is more on Traditional paper and pencil test.

Spoonfeeding (depending to the teacher).



New (Present)

They socialize by means of social network sites.

They tend to surf and find friends using technologies.

Wearing fit pants, stilletos, and all trending fashion outfit.

Iphones, touchscreen cellphones, headphones,
 e-book reader,  mp3 players and laptop computers (netbook).


They use technology in their lessons.

More on learning by doing (hands-on activities).


   The difference between the 2 generation builds a gap that makes the both parties difficulties to understand one another. But as a facilitator we should help them engage on this new technologies and to break the gap of the 30 y/o generation and new generation. They may be different but still they can create, learn and experiencing new things that they could apply in their daily life.

Bridge the gap of student Y and Z


           How can a future facilitator bridge a gap of a generation who woke up in traditional paper-pencil to a generation who woke in technology based learning? The gap between this two is quite apart and yet I can do something to bring them together.

There are generation Y that engage on using the technologies where the generation Z is capable of. The Z is not that familiar of the traditional and when they are expose to this paper-and-pencil they get bored and there will be no learning. Learning is more on doing. They could explore and find there answer. But generation Y couldn't adjust themselves so we as an facilitator we should engage them to realize and accept the changes as years pass by. The beginning of making a bridge is a facilitator. I should use this ICT as my medium of instructional material for me to understand them and for them to engage this new era learning system. The generation Y should also be engage to understand the changing world. And when we do this gap will be eliminated and there will be no lapses and gap anymore.

Reflection #1 (Gadget Technology)

I am indeed a Generation Y individual and yet it is not and hindrance for me not to educate those who are in the generation Z student. I reflect that as a future educator, I should not stick to what I learned but I should also have to think on what my learners needs and what they want. Spoon feeding is one thing that I observed in my intermediate days, where my teachers give me the information and the learning. My learning and knowledge is up to there. My thinking is not that hastened and as years pass by, technologies are being used as a media that we could use. Generation Z students is indulged on using gadgets and technologies where they grew from using it. And because of this they use it for entertainment and I will be the one to understand and will try to use this not for this gadget to use my students. I will be the one who will teach them and help them what they have to learn. I will engage them through this to gain knowledge and learning and evade them from all the disadvantages of this media. Engage not to entertain. I learn that as a future educator we are not merely be the one to instruct the student on what they need to do but I am the one who is responsible to guide them on what they need to do. I should teach them not just to entertain themselves but rather to engage them to learn and to add knowledge even if the class ended. This media should be use wisely and that is my role as a facilitator to find answer to their questions and to construct another question to be answered.The lesson struck me  because it is well explained that how as an educator is involved in this technologies and the video clip explained it more intimately the hidden messages of the lesson. The Moral things that a educator should have. I just not learned but I also had a reflection that could be applicable to my profession as a future educator. I understand more what is Educational Technology is all about.
